1943 – George Harrison is born at 12 Arnold Grove, Wavertree, Liverpool, England. Some sources state February 25 as his actual birthday. George told Billboard magazine in December 1992 that his birthday is actually February 24. He was born shortly before midnight, though his birth certificate states that he was born February 25.

1961 – The Beatles perform at the Grosvenor Ballroom, Liscard, Wallasey.

1962 – The Beatles perform at two locations. First they appear at the YMCA in Hoylake, Wirral, Cheshire. The audience, unhappy with The Beatles’ long introductions between songs, jeer them off stage. The Beatles then travel to the Cavern Club, Liverpool, where they perform after midnight, during one of the club’s all-night sessions.

1963 – The Beatles, on the Helen Shapiro tour, perform at Coventry Theatre, Coventry, Warwickshire.

1965 – The Beatles are in the Bahamas filming for the movie “Help!” (tentatively titled “Eight Arms To Hold You”). The Beatles are filmed riding bicycles around on Interfield Road, near the airport.

1967 – The Beatles in the recording studio, Studio Two, EMI’s Abbey Road Studios, London. More work on “Lovely Rita,” begun the previous day. Paul overdubs his lead vocal.

1982 – John (posthumously) and Yoko are awarded a Grammy Award for 1981 Album of the Year (“Double Fantasy”).

1986 – John Lennon’s album “John Lennon: Live in New York City” (EMI PCS 7301), the first authorized release of recordings from Lennon’s ‘One to One Concerts’ on August 30, 1972 (most tracks are from the afternoon show) is released in the U.K. Tracks: “New York City,” “It’s So Hard,” “Woman Is the Nigger of the World,” “Well Well Well,” “Instant Karma,” “Mother,” “Come Together,” “Imagine,” “Cold Turkey,” “Hound Dog” and “Give Peace a Chance.”

1989 – Ringo Starr’s album “Starr Struck: Best of Ringo Starr Vol. 2″ (Rhino Rhino R1-70199) is released in the U.S. The CD has four songs not on the LP. Songs on the LP: “Wrack My Brain,” “In My Car,” “Cookin’ (In the Kitchen of Love),” “I Keep Forgettin,’” “Hard Times,” “Hey! Baby,” “A Dose of Rock and Roll,” “Private Property,” “Can She Do It Likes She Dances,” “Heart on My Sleeve,” “Sure to Fall (In Love With You),” and “She’s About a Mover.” Additional songs on the CD version: “Attention,” “Who Needs a Heart,” “Hopeless,” and “You Belong to Me.
